Start with the dispatch decision

Choose the decision the integration should support: onboarding a carrier, reviewing an upcoming assignment, or escalating a change. Identify who owns that decision before designing a dashboard or an alert.

• Match carriers using stable identifiers, not name alone.
• Show the source time and distinguish unknown from acceptable.
• Keep Red, Yellow, and Green indicators accompanied by readable labels.

Agree on the approved contract

Carrier Lookout includes a Load Manager TMS integration offering. Other integrations require approval and a scoped implementation review; API access is not a standard self-service plan feature. Confirm supported fields and authentication with the team before coding against a prototype.

Design for unavailable or delayed data

• Do not silently replace a failed lookup with a Green status.
• Define refresh and retry behavior with bounded requests.
• Keep credentials server-side and grant only needed access.
• Document the manual review path when a dependency is unavailable.

Test the complete workflow before activation

Verify identity mapping, permission boundaries, stale data, rejected credentials, and alert handling in a controlled environment. The website preview demonstrates intended workflows; it is not evidence that production provisioning, customer API access, or email delivery has been enabled.
